Psychological Wellness Programs
Medical Specialists of Fairfield is pleased to offer two evidence-based psychological wellness programs facilitated by Kelly Reznikoff, M.A.
Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery (MBCR), a mind-body approach to healing
Receiving a cancer diagnosis is often accompanied by many questions, uncertainty, and anxiety. Research shows that mentally preparing yourself to handle cancer treatment by getting stress and anxiety under control can improve the quality of your life and make you an active participant in your own recovery. MBCR is taught at MSF for one hour over 4-6 weeks. During the program, you will learn to:
- Calm stressful feelings of fear, uncertainty and lack of control
- Better manage difficult symptoms and side effects
- Discover your own capacity for healing and thriving after adversity
Positive Psychology Solutions (PPS)
In contrast to many psychotherapies that focus primarily on personal deficits and “surviving”, positive psychology focuses on personal strengths and thriving. Positive psychology is a cutting edge branch of psychology that offers tools and techniques to enhance emotional health, happiness and flourishing. PPS is offered at MSF for one hour over 4-8 weeks. During this program, you will learn to:
- Create daily habits that re-wire your brain for increased happiness
- Increase emotional regulation, resilience and grit
- Assess and use your individual character strengths to be at your best at home or work
